I’ve been writing poetry for over ten years: at first, writing helped me process the sudden death of my husband. It developed from a pastime and eventually, into a change in my career.
In 2013 I self published my first pamphlet Undertow, and I am currently working on my next pamphlet Step, which explores shoes and identity. In 2019 I graduated with Distinction from my MA in Creative Writing at Nottingham Trent University, which I pursued specifically to develop my poetry.
For the past four years, I have taught creative writing for Inspire (Learning and Libraries) on their Nottinghamshire community learning program, and I am currently Lead Tutor for Newark and Sherwood.
I have taught workshops and courses over a number of years, in a variety of settings. I am familiar working with both beginners and more experienced writers, and I have a wealth of themed writing workshops to draw on.
My poems have been published in a range of national magazines such as Mslexia, The Interpreter’s House, Ink Sweat and Tears and South. My work has also appeared in Nottinghamshire publications such as Left Lion, and Nottinghamshire Writers’ Studio anthologies.
